Waterproof shoes and clothing are designed to be worn in humid weather. The waterproof membrane and water-repellent coating provide maximum protection against rain and wet air.

Thanks to a special waterproof membrane, the shoes are moisture resistant and allow the skin to breathe. The membrane inside the shoes evaporates moisture and repels water, so your feet will always stay dry.

Waterproof clothing is covered with a water-repellent coating, this technology prevents the fabric from absorbing moisture, forcing water to drip off the surface. Glued seams provide extra protection against moisture.

Cleaning the outside of your shoes

  • Get rid of surface dirt by brushing with water and removing the dirt particles. You should look to remove dirt and stones regularly from the sole of your shoes.
  • TIP: Rub the sole of your shoes from time to time with sandpaper or against an asphalt or loose gravel surface to roughen up the surface of the sole.

Cleaning the inside of a shoe

  • Clean your shoes with lukewarm water and a soft brush. Shoes without a Texapore lining can also be cleaned using a hard soap.

Drying

  • Air your shoes thoroughly after taking them off and ensure they are dry. You can take out the insole.
  • Please remember the basics: open up the shoes and let them dry slowly in a well-ventilated place; avoid direct heat such as the full force of the sun, radiator or fireplace (otherwise the shoes will become brittle and crack)!

How to take correct measurements

Always measure both feet and use the results from the bigger foot. If you are in-between two sizes, we advise you to order the larger one.

1. Foot length
Your foot length is the measurement from your big toe to the end of your heel.

Tips & tricks
The shoe should ideally have some extra room: there should be roughly a thumb-width space (1,5 cm) left between the end of your foot and the tip of the shoe. This will mean that your toes won’t keep hitting the front of the shoe as you walk down the mountainside.

Make sure you have your hiking socks on when trying out hiking footwear.

2. Important
The gap between the top of the toe and toecap should be 1,5 cm. Shoes should fit snuggly but not restrict the feet.
Please order shoes with Texapore technology one size larger. Due to our fully waterproof Texapore membrane, these shoes run slightly smaller.
